Per State Park Rules and Regulations, it is unlawful for any person to use any metal detection device in any State Park without permission from the Park Manager (Prohibited Devices 220-5-.08(4)). Metal detecting is a popular hobby and Lake Lurleen wants you to be able to enjoy this activity but we do want to avoid damaging the natural surroundings of the park. Therefore, a policy is in place to allow this activity but with some restrictions.
- Lake Lurleen has a policy in place to allow metal detecting on the beach during non peak hours.
- Metal detectors may not be used on camp sites, or any other area of the park
- Ask at the entrance station for information on how to sign up for permission to metal detect on the beach
